Yay! This is my favorite time of year. There is something so magical about the feeling the holidays bring. I am so thankful this year for so many things. My family, my job, my health, and and my incredible friends. I will be cooking the whole sha-bang this year for family and friends. Recipes include, my brined turkey, velvet potatoes, whipped sweet potatoes with bananas and honey, sugar snap peas and asparagus, shrimp cocktail, and jalapeno-cheddar cornbread. I usually never make dessert but this year I am going to make a pumpkin pie with a twist….chocolate crust. I will be posting as I cook over the next couple days but if you need any help just ask and I will send you yummy recipes. I hope everyone is as blessed as I am and finds something to be thankful for, there are so many things. GOBBLE GOBBLE.
Well today, a few years ago, I came into this world. What a ride it has been so far. I have lived such an amazing life. I am eternally grateful to my family and friends who have been along for this journey to date. Every year I reflect back on what I have learned. I am a very big believer in living in the MOMENT. Never living in the past or trying to figure out the future because lets face it, you cant change either one. So today I am here with an amazing sense of self! Proud of the strength, manners, morals and quality of life my parents taught me. Grateful for my job as a broadcaster and the tenacity, talent and hard work it has taken to not only get here but to stay. Thrilled to have time to spend time on my passion of cooking and sharing it with you. I have the most amazing relationship with my family and friends. The smiles, laughs and lessons we all go through daily is what we will be reflecting on as memories in the years to come. So do JUST that: smile, laugh, and take the lessons you learn everyday with your family, friends and love ones and cherish them. Live with no regret. Ya never know, maybe someone you least expect will bake you a cake when they have NOOOOOO idea how and just do it because they love you! (See pic below) God I love my life!
