Well, I haven’t blogged in many months as I have been more like Christopher Columbus and moving around making discoveries. But now……IM BACK! Back where I belong in Southern Cal doing what I love the most: Cooking.  And yes all you fools that have dined and drank lots and lots of red wine are allllllllllll invited back.  Wines West has re-opened and planning some very yummy meals and get togethers for all of us to make NEW memories as well as share and laugh our asses off at the old ones.  So those that are new, welcome and those that are old, you know the drill. Come eat, drinnnnnnnk and be mer——sleep over if you get too drunk!  Lets have a great next year!  xoxoxoxo

2013 GFGFGWGT (Explanation below)

I haven’t blogged in a while. Sorry, lots of changes for 2013.  New kitchen, new food, new drinks and a new love for the loyal, amazing people in my life.  You know the old saying, Good Food, Good Friends, Good Wine, Good Times?  Well thats exactly what 2013 will be for Jillybdelicious!  So excited to embark on a new journey and bring in all kinds of new recipes and try them out on some of the amazing new friends I have met.  Also throw in a sprinkle of family in there from time to time.  🙂  I don’t make resolutions because I like to challenge myself to be better and live right everyday. So I just have a little thought to leave you with:  Look at the family and friends around you, be grateful for the ones who do what they say and say what they mean and are loyal.  Cherish those people. Cook for or with them, drink and laugh with them as much as you can. The memories will be invaluable. Life is too short to deal with bullshit and betrayal.  Laugh.  Live . Love.  SLAINTE.

THANKSGIVING!!!

Yay!  This is my favorite time of year.  There is something so magical about the feeling the holidays bring. I am so thankful this year for so many things.  My family, my job, my health, and and my incredible friends.  I will be cooking the whole sha-bang this year for  family and friends.  Recipes include, my brined turkey, velvet potatoes, whipped sweet potatoes with bananas and honey, sugar snap peas and asparagus, shrimp cocktail, and jalapeno-cheddar cornbread.  I usually never make dessert but this year I am going to make a pumpkin pie with a twist….chocolate crust.   I will be posting as I cook over the next couple days but if you need any help just ask and I will send you yummy recipes.  I hope everyone is as blessed as I am and finds something to be thankful for, there are so many things.  GOBBLE GOBBLE.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Well today, a few years ago, :) I came into this world.  What a ride it has been so far.  I have lived such an amazing life.  I am eternally grateful to my family and friends who have been along for this journey to date.  Every year I reflect back on what I have learned.  I am a very big believer in living in the MOMENT.  Never living in the past or trying to figure out the future because lets face it, you cant change either one. So today I am here with an amazing sense of self!   Proud of the strength, manners, morals and quality of life my parents taught me. Grateful for my job as a broadcaster and the tenacity, talent and hard work it has taken to not only get here but to stay. Thrilled to have time to spend time on my passion of cooking and sharing it with you.  I have the most amazing relationship with my family and friends.   The smiles, laughs and lessons we all go through daily is what we will be reflecting on as memories in the years to come.  So do JUST that: smile, laugh, and take the lessons you learn everyday with your family, friends and love ones and cherish them. Live with no regret. Ya never know, maybe someone you least expect will bake you a cake when they have NOOOOOO idea how and just do it because they love you! (See pic below)  God I love my life!

Champagne Thursday!

I love the term “Champagne Thursday” which I stole from Zooey Deschanel! You know the weekend is right around the corner, so why not have a little bubbles and cook!  Today I went Mexican which I NEVER DO!!! I am not a big Mexican food fan but I love homemade tacos with homemade guacamole and tons of Habanero hot pepper cheese! And don’t kid yourself an ENTIRE bottle of Cholula hot sauce!  Also making another batch of Homemade Snickers (recipe on my home page).  So whatever you make tonight for dins, or prepare for this upcoming College Football Weekend……HAVE SOME DAMN BUBBLES!!!  Its makes it a lot more fun!  Slainte! xo

Paula Deen Y’ALL!

Have you ever watched any of Paula Deen’s cooking shows?  If you haven’t you are missing out!  Now talk about being sassy in the kitchen!  With all her “y’alls” and laughing with her grown boys (who cook like the wind blows) it makes me want to call my momma and ask her if I can just be adopted by the Deen family so in between my sideline gigs I am in the kitchen with her!  So, I want to be one of her team bloggers.  Do you think I have what it takes?  I hope so, look at my food posts on my home page and let me know!  For now just keep your fingers crossed.  🙂

Welcome!

Very excited to get this up and running.  Get ready for some fun, food and overall sass!  I want to give mad love to my great friend Ann Gaffigan for helping me get this website going.  As soon as I learn how to be as good on the computer as I am in a kitchen all the information will be in one spot!  Jillybdelicious.com will soon be a working passion.  In the meantime please feel free to make comments below.  FIRST QUESTION:  What is your favorite appetizer to make for Football season.  (Yummiest post will be reposted on my website!) Slainte!
